DRAWING II: Selfie-Portrait Project info

1. DUE- Monday, OCTOBER 20th. Critique in class.

2. Work on Emoji out of class, consider narrative (story), scale, number of emoji. You will attach these later, to your large drawing so consider where they will be placed.

3. Pace yourself, work outside of class.
You can use the drawing studio (or painting studio) whenever there is not a class in session.

4. Experiment with mediums on scrap paper before you dive in, consider different mixed media combinations.

5. Sketch out a possible Emoji list (use at least 3) in your sketchbook for Weds, Oct 1st.

Beginning Painting for Monday, Sept 29th

Beginning Painting

1. You should have 5 paintings done or a few tiny details away from being done. Even if you think they are done I may ask you to re-work some things.

2. You should have some of the other paintings sketched out with a first layer.

3. We will have a color mixing demo by a rep from Winsor-Newton for the first hour of class. She will give aways some paint and maybe other materials at the end of the demo.

- Printed good quality, not pixelated/blurry, Picture of selfie to use. At least 6" x 6".
- Idea of ratio (Large Paper is 48" x ________").
- Done some experiments with the mediums you plan to use.

1. Right/Left Drawing of a Friend

2a. Do a five minute walk with your sketchbook. Record everything you see. Details, new observations, things you have never noticed before.

2b. Retrace your steps and draw one thing from your walk, detailed sketch.



Beginning Painting

1. Work on Grisaille Painting. (Due date is Sept. 15th at beginning of class)

2. Start collecting objects for 10 things paintings.
